After the victory of Duncan Laurence in Israel, the 65th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will be held in the The Netherlands for the first time since 1980. Various cities such as Rotterdam, Arnhem, The Hague, Maastricht and Den Bosch have indicated that they would like to organize the event. Only Rotterdam and Maastricht are still in the race to organize the Eurovision 2020. These cities came out a lot stronger in terms of accommodation and financial contribution than Utrecht, Arnhem and Den Bosch.
ESC 2020 semi-finals and grand final dates
There are more tha 40 countries participating in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2020. Just like every year there will be two semifinals and a final in 2020. The semi-finals will take place on a Tuesday and Thursday in May 2020. The best ten countries of the semi-finals go to the final on a Saturday in May 2020. There they meet 'The Big Five' (Spain, Italy, Germany, United Kingdom and France) and host country The Netherlands.
