After the victory of Netta Barzilai in Portugal, the 64th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will be held in the EXPO Tel Aviv (International Convention Center) in Tel Aviv. Israel. After 1979 and 1999 it is already the third time that Israel is allowed to organize the festival.
Tel Aviv Host city Eurovision 2019
Prime Minister Netanyahu has had consultations with various ministers and the Israeli broadcaster. It has been decided that the government will not interfere with the organization and that the Eurovision Song Contest does not necessarily have to take place in Jerusalem. There were four cities in Israel that wanted to organize the Eurovision song contest: Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Eilat and Haifa. The organization has announced that the Eurovision Song Contest will take place in the EXPO Tel Aviv (International Convention Center) in Tel Aviv.
ESC 2019 semi-finals and grand final dates
There are 41 countries participating in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2019. Just like every year there will be two semifinals and a final in 2019. The semi-finals will take place on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 and Thursday, May 16, 2019. Each semi-final has 18 participants and the best ten countries of the semi-finals go to the final on Saturday, May 18, 2019. There they meet 'The Big Five' (Spain, Italy, Germany, United Kingdom and France) and host country Israel.
